Dear Friends and Family,
Many of you know my loving husband Jason Sanchez. He is 34 years old, the wonderful father to our 3 beautiful daughters, Ashley (15), Ariana (12), and Alexis (10), and good friend to many.
For the past 9 years Jason has been suffering and battling Chronic Pancreatitis. If not treated, Jason will become a brittle diabetic. The long term outlook for a brittle diabetic is uncertain and grim. It is known that brittle diabetics have a higher risk of death and poor quality of life. Due to his declining condition and after countless hospitalizations, Jason’s doctors sent him to the University Medical Center in Tucson Arizona. His doctors have told us that his only option now is a life saving islet cell transplant.
Our insurance will only cover part of the islet cell transplant. The cost of an islet cell transplant is astronomical. In addition to the cost of the transplant there are other expenses which must be paid out of pocket. Some of these are deductibles, travel and lodging. This puts us up against a challenge that we can not meet alone and desperately need your help.
In order ease the financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Jason’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive (formerly NTAF), a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for nearly 30 years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southwest Islet Cell Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only.
