Jeff Needs Your Help

Jeff Haslip, 35, is a father, husband, son, grandson, brother, friend, entrepreneur, student, and dialysis patient. He is in need of a kidney transplant and has been undergoing evaluation at the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah

Jeff was born with a birth defect, (posterior urethral valves), which essentially did not allow his bladder and kidneys to form correctly while in the womb. Because of this, Jeff was a very sick baby and had to have numerous surgeries throughout his childhood to try and control the pressure in his bladder and stop the continual infections in his kidneys.

Jeff was 18 when he was told he would definitely need a kidney transplant. His kidney function continued to decline despite all the surgeries. At the age of 25, he started dialysis and spent three days a week receiving this life saving treatment. Finally, after four long years of feeling exhausted and diminished, Jeff received a kidney transplant.

Unfortunately, after two years, the transplant failed, and Jeff finds himself back on dialysis. To date, it has been another four long years on dialysis, three days a week.

Jeff is an amazing warrior who continues to have a strong desire to live life to the fullest despite his circumstances. In 2020, Jeff met his soulmate and miraculously became a dad in 2021! His beautiful baby girl is the apple of his eye and has given him a renewed hope and a purpose to continue the good fight.

Transplants are life-saving, but also extremely expensive. Even with insurance, Jeff will face many out-of-pocket costs, including travel to and from the transplant center, co-pays, deductibles, and the costly anti-rejection medications he will have to take for the rest of his life. All of this presents a challenge he cannot meet without your help.
