Help Jeff Breathe Again

Jeff Tolman is a proud blue-collar worker, a devoted father, and a loving husband. He’s one of those people who would give the shirt off his back to help someone else, no questions asked. A hard-working man with strong values, Jeff has spent his life showing up for others—at work, at home, and in his community. Now, after a medical battle he never could have seen coming, it’s our turn to show up for him.

Some years ago Jeff was working when tragedy struck—an accident on the job caused by a now-deceased coworker resulted in a devastating explosion that nearly cost Jeff his life. He was life-flighted from the scene, having inhaled high-temperature toxic particles from the blast. Miraculously, he survived—but the damage to his lungs lingered quietly in the background for years.

Fast forward to now, Jeff caught a severe case of pneumonia. The pneumonia caused irreversible damage to his lungs. Though he is otherwise healthy, Jeff now faces the unthinkable: he needs a lung transplant to survive.

Jeff is a non-smoker, active, and healthy in every other way, which makes him an excellent candidate for transplant. But even with insurance, the medical and related costs are overwhelming—especially as Jeff will be out of work for at least six months during recovery.

We are fundraising through the nonprofit Help Hope Live because donations through this platform are tax-deductible and can only be used to help cover verified medical and related expenses like transplant costs, temporary relocation near the hospital, co-pays, and more.

He is the kind of dad who shows up, the kind of husband who holds it all together, and the kind of friend who quietly sacrifices without ever asking for anything in return. We’re asking on his behalf now—because he deserves the chance to heal, to breathe again, and to live the life he’s worked so hard to build.
