Keep Jenn Safe & Active In Her Community

Jennifer (Jenn) is a 39 year old woman with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). This medical condition has a similar effect as other muscular dystrophies and neuromuscular disorders. It is incurable and progressive. (See article below for more about Jenn and her disability.) Due to her SMA, Jenn uses an electric wheelchair and has a caregiver for her daily needs or ADLs. She needs handicap transportation to get around due to her disability and electric wheelchair.

Jenn loves to be part of her church community. She works for her local church as a ministry assistant part time. She loves to be helpful anyway she can. Wonderfully, she is pretty handy with technology and loves to create things. She also volunteers with her church as an online chat greeter and leader of that ministry.

When Jenn isn’t working or serving, she loves books, learning, crafts, and video games.

Jenn is specifically fundraising for a new handicap van so that she can continue to be an active part of her community. Her current handicap van is at the end of its life. It has a suspension issue that cannot be repaired due to the age and rust.

She has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses. Also, because Help Hope Live sends all funds directly to the hospitals, clinics, or vendors instead of directly to the recipients.
