Help Jennifer Get a New Kidney!

Jennifer Beebe is a 30-year-old woman who is very ill. Jennifer has been battling lupus nephritis (an autoimmune disease) for over 8 years now and has reached a point where a kidney transplant is needed to prolong her life. Jennifer is one of the kindest, most giving people you’ll ever meet and she needs your help. Expenses associated with the transplant are overwhelming.

Jennifer grew up in the Philippines and graduated high school there. Throughout her childhood she helped her family by working in a small restaurant that they owned. She went on to college in the Philippines and met her husband, Rodney.

After a few years, Jennifer and Rodney wed in 2003 and settled into a life together in Woodland, CA. Jennifer worked as a kitchen assistant at a local convalescent home and took pride in her work providing for the elderly. Six months after having their daughter, Jia, in 2007 Jennifer was diagnosed with lupus. Despite the devastating news of her illness, she refused to let it hold her down. She continued to work until she was physically unable and was put on permanent disability in 2010. Even then, Jennifer channeled that indomitable spirit into serving others by becoming a foster parent. Approximately 30 children have come through Jennifer and Rodney’s home that Jennifer helped until they can be with their biological parents, some of whom she’s remained in contact with to remain a positive influence in their lives. Soon after, it was found that the illness started to affect her kidneys and in March 2015 she started dialysis 3 times a week.

Transplants are lifesaving but financially draining. Even with insurance, Jennifer is facing very high expenses including bringing her brother, a potential living donor, here to the United States. There will be hospital bills, post-transplant medications she will need to take for the rest of her life, co-pays, lab fees and more.

To help with the financial burden of Jennifer’s expenses, a fundraising campaign in her honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years.
