I was diagnososed with Appendix Cancer in 2020. Since then I have had 2 major surgeries, 6 months of chemo and 4 months of targetted meds. I have spent 5 weeks in the hospital, had CT scans every 3 months along with bloodwork and many many doctors appointments.

As you can imagine, this has not been a cheap fight. I have been very blessed to have family support throughout this time and I have been approved for disabilty pay, but that has a 5 month waiting period and will not be enough to live on. I continue to work for part time as well.

December 7, I will be having surgery again, but this time I will be traveling to Pittsburgh to see a different specialist. Hopefully my insurance will cover most of the medical expenses, but there will be other expenses that will be out of pocket. And of course, in January my required co-pays and out of pocket costs start over.
