Hi, my name is Jessica. I’m 33 years old, and I’ve been living with severe Long COVID for over two and a half years. Before getting sick in July of 2023, I worked as a chemist, lived on my own, and ran a small wreath business. I had a full, active life.

After COVID, my nervous system became severely dysregulated. I now live with constant, debilitating fatigue, widespread neuropathy, heat intolerance, touch sensitivity, tachycardia, and ongoing muscle pain that worsens with even small amounts of activity. Because of this, I’m nearly bedbound and need 12 hours of sleep each day just to avoid worsening the condition.

I’ve lost my job, my apartment, and most of the things that once gave my life meaning. I now live with my boyfriend and his family, who help care for me. Most of my days are spent resting and conserving energy — an existence I never imagined, and one I’m doing everything I can to change.

Many treatments I’ve tried so far haven’t helped, but there is one promising option left, a Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB). This procedure involves injecting lidocaine near a nerve cluster in the neck to help calm and “reset” an overactive nervous system. While it isn’t guaranteed, many people with Long COVID have experienced significant improvement in symptoms after receiving it.

Unfortunately, the SGB is not covered by insurance and is pricey. I’m fundraising to cover the procedure itself as well as travel and somewhere to stay, since the clinic is in another city a few hours away. I’m using Help Hope Live because it’s a trusted medical fundraising organization. All donations are tax-deductible and go directly toward approved medical expenses. None of the funds are given directly to me or counted as income.

My hope”s that this treatment will allow me to regain some independence, reduce my symptoms, and begin rebuilding my life. I want to work again. I want to create again. I want the chance to get my life back.
