My dad has end-stage kidney disease (ESKD), which is the last stage of long-term (chronic) kidney disease. When you look at him, talk with him, and spend time with him, you would never know what he is going through. He is a do-it-yourself, hard working, never complain type of guy. He hates to ask for help, and after how much he has helped others, I want to let the world know he needs a living donor kidney transplant.

A few years ago, my dad found out he was losing kidney function. Fast forward to spring 2022, and he is put on dialysis as he has no kidney function left. That means his kidneys are only working, and working too hard, when he is undergoing dialysis. Your kidneys are supposed to be working 24/7.

Dialysis is not a long-term solution (or as my dad would jokingly refer to it, death-alysis). You can see from our family photo, my dad has three kids and a wife of 35 years (high school sweethearts!) that need him here with us, and having him back at 100%. A living kidney donor would bless him with the gift of time.

Our first priority is finding a kidney donor.

We understand that is a major ask, so if this is something you are unable to do, our second priority is that you spread the word about my dad.

Lastly, if you are able to donate, this will help my dad fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation. My dad is self employed, so donations also assist with any time off of work that he and the donor will need.
