Jimmy Seale

Jimmy recently suffered a life-changing traumatic brain injury following a motorcycle accident. Jimmy suffered three distinct brain hemorrhages in his frontal and temporal lobes. We are still learning the full range and extent of these injuries and how they will impact his future. Jimmy is now home after having spent time in the surgical ICU and in-patient rehabilitation hospital.

Before the accident Jimmy worked as a commercial roofer. He traveled to many parts of the world for his work including Sri Lanka, the American Embassies in Jordan and Panama and even Guantanamo Bay. Jimmy is optimistic about returning to a productive and fulfilling life filled with hard work, good friends and lots of love. However, his employer terminated his employment about six weeks after the accident. He now faces the additional costs of COBRA or private health insurance in addition to his many medical expenses.

Jimmy and I have been life partners for about five years. We came together through shared tragedy. I lost my beloved husband, Tom, to a motorcycle accident; Jimmy lost his younger brother, Steve, to a motorcycle accident. Because of this, we are very aware how fortunate we are to have survived this accident and are dedicated to promoting awareness of TBI and the importance of bike riders to always wear a helmet.
