In 2020 I was diagnosed with severe kidney failure. I wasn’t familiar with the diagnosis and I wasn’t showing signs of anything being wrong. I remember sitting at home and I sneezed and blood was coming from my nose like a running faucet. I went to the emergency room to find out that my blood pressure was extremely high and the blood flow had ruptured a vein and needed a way to flow so it came out my nose.

I was prescribed some medicine to help regulate my blood pressure. I took the pills and went to work thinking everything would be ok but little did I know my life was about to change. I was scheduled to see a heart doctor to see why my blood pressure was the way it was. I checked in to see the doctor, my blood pressure was checked and the doctor said my blood pressure was so high that if I didn’t go to the ER I would die.

I checked in to the ER to find out that my blood pressure was so high that it was interfering with my kidneys. I spent a week in the hospital to find out that I had severe kidney failure and took some time off from work to adjust to the change that was happening.

Back to work and life as it was happening. A couple of years later I realized that I needed a little break so I decided to become part time at my job. When I decided to go part time it affected the insurance I received from my job and I wasn’t able to afford the medication I needed. My legs and ankles began to swell so I went to see a doctor. The doctor suggested that I go to hospital to get checked out. I was checked in and blood work was done to find out that I have chronic kidney disease. A catheter was put in my chest and dialysis had begun. I spent a week in the hospital to find out that I was diagnosed as disabled. I have been doing dialysis for a year and half now. My kidneys don’t work properly so I am hooked up to a machine to help remove waste from my blood. I am making this post in hopes to help with my medical expenses, that are not covered by insurance.
