John Nelson

John is a devoted husband, father of three, and proud “Poppy” to three grandchildren. In 2021, John was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), a serious and progressive lung disease. Despite his strength and determination, John’s condition has worsened significantly over the past year. In 2023, he had to step away from work as his disease progressed, and he now requires oxygen at all times.

John is currently being evaluated to be listed for a double lung transplant, which offers him the hope of more years with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Family and friends are coming together to raise funds through the nonprofit Help Hope Live, which assists transplant patients with medical expenses that go beyond what insurance covers. All donations are tax-deductible, and every dollar raised will go directly toward John’s transplant-related expenses.
