John Yukers

Dear Friends of John,

Several years ago, John was diagnosed with untreatable chronic liver disease. As a result of his illness, he was later diagnosed with liver cancer and told that his only chance at a healthy life was to have a liver transplant. John is currently on the active transplant waiting list at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

John was raised and now resides in Chickasaw, AL. He is a graduate of Vigor H.S and long-time employee of Top Music Co. You may remember John from school, or you may know him from church or through an extended family member. However you know him, you know he always has a positive attitude and sense of humor in whatever he does. John now needs your help.

Not only is a transplant a major surgical procedure, it is very expensive. Even with insurance, John will have many uninsured transplant-related expenses such as: co-pays and deductibles, travel and temporary housing near to the transplant center and the costly immunosuppressant medications that he will need to take for the rest of his life. Jenny, his loving wife, will have to leave her job to be John’s primary caregiver. As friends of the Yukers family, you can offer our help and prayers during this time. You can also help financially.

To help with these uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in John’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southeast Liver Transplant Fund, and are re administered for transplant-related expenses only.
