JOHNNIE NEEDS A HEART!

Johnnie Ukele is a 49-year-old man who has suffered with chronic health problems for the last seven years. In 2010 Johnnie required a pacemaker and a defibrillator implantation. Prior to that, Johnnie was very active and productive, working full-time for a national major trucking company. His health continued to deteriorate to such a point that he now needs an LVAD (left ventricular assist device) implant to keep his heart going until he is placed on the heart transplant waiting list and receives his
new heart.

Over the years, Johnnie has worked in a variety of fields but, due to his declining health, he has not been able to work since 2007. He currently resides in Delhi, Louisiana and receives some support from relatives, including an elderly mother, but his financial burden is increasing exponentially. Mr. Ukele relies on disability to help make ends meet but for him to continue on this path, it would be near impossible for him to afford the care he requires for follow-up doctor visits and the anti-suppressant medication needed for the rest of his life. This is a challenge he cannot face alone. He needs your help.
