Family and friends of Joleen Kokenzie are raising funds through the nonprofit Help Hope Live to help cover uninsured medical expenses related to her lung transplant. Joleen is a hard-working mother who has spent her career caring for others at a skilled nursing facility. Now, she needs our care and support as she faces one of the biggest challenges of her life. As her lung disease has progressed, daily tasks have become harder and more exhausting. Joleen misses the simple joys that once filled her life—gardening, cooking, horseback riding, and being outdoors. Her dream is to regain her independence and return to the activities that make her feel alive. She’s determined to get back to the job and community she loves, but recovery from a lung transplant can take six months or more, leaving her unable to work during recovery and facing significant medical costs.
