Josephine Rogers

Josephine Rogers is one tough kid! In April, 2024 Josie was a healthy, spunky 9-year-old who was busy playing soccer, loving school, and running around the neighborhood with her buddies. In May she fell off her scooter and complained of arm pain, which was diagnosed as a benign fracture. We later sadly discovered that osteosarcoma was aggressively growing in her humerus and had almost completely taken over the bone. After starting IV chemo she had a massive surgery to remove the cancer plus its surrounding joints that salvaged only a few muscles in her right arm. She now spends 2+ hours each day doing intensive occupational therapy with specialized therapists to regain use of her arm. These therapies are hardly covered by insurance, and our family is taking a strong financial hit to continue this journey. The good news is that Josie is recovering beautifully and may actually be REGROWING some of her arm muscles due to her tireless work in therapy! Although she missed the 4th grade, she rejoined her class in the 5th grade and is doing a phenomenal job catching up with her studies.

Family and friends of Josephine have graciously donated to the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with her catastrophic illness of cancer.
