Joyce Burrows

Dear Family and Friends,
I am never someone to ask for help, however, as some of you already know, my mother Joyce is critically ill.

Our mother has an autoimmune disease called Primary Biliary Cholangitis. This disease destroys the liver causing cirrhosis and it used to be the number one reason for liver transplant. Our mother Joyce is one of the most caring people that we know. She is an amazing mother of 4 children, myself, Lynn, Michael, and Madeline. She was recently promoted to the role of proud grandmother to Jocelyn and Elowen and enjoys every second of it! Even though she has health insurance, surprisingly many transplant related expenses are not covered, such as monthly anti-rejection medications that she will need to take for the rest of her life (they can be thousands of dollars each month).

Joyce was recently admitted to the hospital and our window of opportunity just opened as she is at the perfect spot for a transplant.

We are still looking at the living donor option. A living donor is someone who is willing to donate part of their liver to our mother to save her life!! With this comes providing for their expenses so there is no hardship financially to them.

Due to her insurance, we have chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses.

In closing, I am asking you to join our battle and become a hero for my mother. You can do this by asking how to sign up to be considered a living donor or by helping ease the financial burden to allow our mother Joyce to focus on making a healthy recovery and enjoy being a grandmother for many years to come.
