Joyce Ryans

Joyce found out she was in stage 5 kidney failure in December of 2010 while 25 weeks pregnant with her daughter NaChelle.

One week later NaChelle was born via emergency c-section weighing in at 1lb 6oz. Then the transplant journey began. Two years later Joyce was successfully transplanted.

Fast forward to 2016: Joyce became ill without explanation. Come to find out, she was dehydrated, had a severe but asymptomatic UTI, and was in full blown rejection. Doctors battled to save the kidney but ultimately lost. Joyce began dialysis in May of 2018 and has to start the process over again. Unfortunately, secondary insurance or a large fundraising campaign is required for her to begin to get on the transplant list. A law was passed in the state of Oklahoma which prohibits a person with ESRD and Medicare from obtaining secondary insurance.

Joyce is a single mother with a 10 year old little girl. She is very family oriented, loves to cook for others, is a very social person, and misses having the energy to play with her little girl. She maintains a positive outlook and is determined to raise the money needed to be transplanted and get healthy again. She is determined to return to being a working mom and raise her daughter.
