Family and friends of Julia Foreman and Arlen Freeman are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Transplant. Julia and her family have chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.

Pintails & Co. is participating in helping Julia get through a kidney transplant and get baby Arlen home and healthy! Any donation would be appreciated. We are actively raising money to help with the costs of Julia’s medical expenses related to kidney disease and diabetes, and her sons’ ongoing NICU and medical costs. We’d also like to help with the costs for her living donor for the upcoming kidney transplant. Julia is a 28-year-old mother, who’s been living with Type 1 Diabetes since she was a child. In the past year, she’s had complications with her kidneys, with a rapid decline of kidney function at the end of 2024. This was then escalated by her pregnancy with her miracle baby, resulting in a diagnosis of End Stage Renal Failure. She began dialysis at 27 weeks gestation with only 6% kidney function remaining. The dialysis sent her son into distress; he was delivered via emergency C-Section that same night. He was born at 2 lbs, and 3 months early. He’s been in the NICU since April 30th, where he has continued to grow stronger, but is still struggling with his lungs. Arlen Wayne is now over 6 lbs, working hard to get weaned off oxygen, and continuing to grow stronger!

Since Arlen’s birth, Julia has been receiving dialysis 3x per week, while also making the hour and a half round trip to see Arlen in the NICU daily. In another unfortunate turn of events, a few short weeks after her release from the hospital and starting outpatient dialysis, she was part of a mass layoff at the company she’d been with for over 5 years.

Julia has always been a go-getter and never sat still. She loves the coast and fishing with her family, as she remembers going on annual family trips growing up. She and her dad also have a BBQ and catering business; Julia has always loved cooking and serving others with her meals. She values family time and the close bond she shares with her loved ones. Julia is looking forward to her first coast trip with Arlen. She’s excited to share family traditions with him, teaching him how to fish, and how to smoke his first brisket!

Julia is kind, loving, and selfless. She would do anything for her loved ones. She puts her trust in the Lord to help her find a kidney match, and thanks God daily for the miracle of her son Arlen. Julia’s amazing partner, Jace, has been by her and Arlen’s side and is so excited for his family to be home together. Jace can’t wait to spend the days with Arlen in the shop, teaching him how to weld!
