Dear Friends, Family and Community,

Over four years ago my life changed in an instant. I was in a horrible car accident adn suffered severe injuries. I am now 23 years old and a quadriplegic. Spending most of my time and through determination, I have been able to make considerable progress by attending a highly specialized rehabilitation program.

Since the accident I have relied on family, friends and a caregiver to get me anywhere I need to go. I have been very lucky to have the support that I do.

I am now ready and looking forward to moving toward a life with more independence. I am hopingto purchase an adapted vehicle that will help me move toward this goal. With an adapted vehicle it will open a whole new world to me. I will be able to drive myself to therapy and come and go as I please without being dependent on someone else. The cost of a modified van could be as much as $60,000. This is where your help is needed.

To assist with the cost of the van and my rehab, a fundraising campaign in my honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. In 2000, they expanded their mission to include those who have sustained a catastrophic injury. All contributions are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southwest Spinal Cord Injury Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for injury-related expenses only.
