Julie Needs Your Help

Julie is a Greenwood resident who has been battling kidney disease for several years. In May 2017, the doctors placed her on the list for a kidney transplant. She is no longer working full time, due to the demands of working full time and raising two kids while coping with kidney disease. Although she has insurance, the cost of a kidney transplant is overwhelming, so she needs the help of her community to offset these costs.

Julie has worked as a behavioral consultant for Insights Consulting, Inc. for 10 years. She worked full-time until a year ago when her kidney function began declining more rapidly. She has counseled and helped many families and individuals with special needs. Her heart is truly in the work she does and her clients and coworkers speak highly of her wisdom and dedication. She is also a single mom dedicated to two wonderful children: a son, age 11, a talented athlete and student; and a daughter, age 9, a talented gymnast and student.

After many years of helping others, Julie needs our help. The transplant process is very draining emotionally and financially. There are many expenses that must be covered out of pocket. Some of these are copays for transplant, labs, and medications.

To help offset such expenses, a fundraising campaign in Julie’s honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the Great Lakes Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only.
