Julio Ramos

Family and friends of Julio Ramos are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Transplant.

Meet Julio Ramos a beloved husband, father, brother & friend. Born and raised Manhattan, NY. Julio is the son of Matilda and Julio Ramos Sr. from Puerto Rico he is the youngest of nine children. From humble beginnings, he grew into a hardworking man devoted to his family. A proud father of three children (Albert, Mayra, and Julio) and a joyful grandfather to seven beautiful grandchildren.

In 2020, Julio’s life changed forever when he was diagnosed with fulminant hepatic failure, a severe and life-threatening liver condition. Since that diagnosis, the simple joys of life like playing catch with his grandchildren or even walking without pain have been taken from him. This disease causes him to have profound fatigue, pain, confusion and even memory loss.

Julio has always been a man of great skill with a passion for fabrication that he lovingly passed down to his son. But today, his illness has placed a heavy financial and emotional burden on his family. The medical expenses and ongoing care have become overwhelming, and yet, through it all, Julio continues to hold on to faith, gratitude, and hope.

Now, by the grace of God, Julio has been given a second chance, the opportunity for a life-saving transplant. This gift could restore his strength, allow him to watch his grandchildren grow, and maybe even walk one day down the aisle at their weddings.
