Transplant – The Ultimate Gift of Life

My name is Justine Shabazz and I have been performing home dialysis for myself since my ERSD diagnosis in June of 2019. Kidney transplantation is my ultimate goal as it would provide me with the best quality of life and free up my time to make a better impact on my community.
I am an active member of my church and a friend to all. I am hoping that my connections to the community can grow as my medical condition improves through transplant.
While on dialysis and for months post-transplant, I am unable to work due to the number of appointments I must attend, my dialysis treatments, and then due to my weakened immunity because of the need for anti-rejection medication. Financial donations would ease the burden and help me with medications, marketing materials, daily life needs, and most importantly my stress level.
A kidney transplant is truly a gift of life. Kidney failure does not have a cure and dialysis is necessary to sustain life unless a transplant is obtained. Dialysis takes up 9 hours a night, 6 nights a week. You giving me a kidney, helping me to find a willing donor or donating financially to help me campaign to solicit a kidney would impact my life in a positive manner.
