Kaebree and Derek Gardner

Family and friends of Kaebree and Derek Gardner are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Catastrophic Illness. Kaebree and Derek have chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.

A little about our family. We have 5 amazing kids. Two of our kiddos are special needs and require a little more care. As many know, no matter how hard you work and try to figure things out it doesn’t always work out. We have struggled with being so close to goals and ways to help improve care for all our kids and in a blink of an eye something happens. No matter how hard we try we always end up having a vehicle break down or an unexpected bill pop up. We usually aren’t ones to ask for help but after several years of trying to save up, we are just asking for a little help in reaching a few goals to help all our kiddos but mainly our special needs kiddos.

A little about our special needs kiddos. They were diagnosed shortly after birth with polymicrogyria, cerebral palsy, and one has pachigyria as well. The one with pachygyria was a twin and unfortunately we lost his twin about 3 years ago, 2 days before his 2nd birthday. We are hoping to raise money to get a accessible van big enough for their two wheelchairs and the rest of our family. We currently do not have a reliable vehicle that works for us to travel (or every day trips to the store) because of all the medical equipment we would need to take for a simple three hour away trip. Being able to travel as a family would be a huge blessing as we haven’t been able to in a few years.

We would also like to make our house more accessible for our kids, which would include fixing up our bathroom to make it easier to bathe them and take care of their other needs. Along with some other repairs or remodeling to make everyday tasks easier. We understand that this isn’t an emergency fund but any help is greatly appreciated.
