YOU CAN HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Kaici had been battling insulin dependent diabetes since she was 15 years old. By the time Kaici was 43, she needed a transplant to survive. She had been diagnosed with end stage renal failure. Leading up to receiving this gift of life, Kaici had endured peritoneal dialysis at home eight hours each night. Through it all, Kaici did her best to maintain a positive attitude. Her belief and trust in God, His promises and plan for her life are what keep her going and cause her to continue to be an inspiration to those who know and love her.

We are forever grateful for the kind and unselfish act of the donor and the donor’s family. This most honorable deed has given Kaici a second chance at life. We give honor to all those at Tampa General/Lifelink for their professionalism, expertise, and kind courteous service. A very special thank you to all who have shared this journey with us through visits, thoughts, prayers, financial contributions and other expressions of love. Most of all we are grateful to God who through his love and wisdom has placed all of you very special people in our lives. We are so very thankful.

These blessings are very clear, ever present and have brought much joy and comfort to our hearts. However, the transplant process has placed us in a very deep and difficult financial situation. Even with insurance, there remain many uncovered expenses. These expenses are overwhelming and some will follow us for life. Kaici’s unemployment benefits will run out soon, leaving me as the sole provider in the home. Because of this, we must continue to rely on the love, care, financial support and prayers of our family and friends.

To help ease this burden, a fundraising campaign has been established in Kaici’s honor with HelpHOPELive. HelpHOPELive has assisted the transplant community with fund raising for over 30 years. They are a 501(c)(3) organization. All contributions are tax-deductible and will greatly assist us not only with our current expenses but also those in the future.
