Hello, my name is Karen. I am a 2 time kidney transplant recipient. My first kidney transplant was in 2002 and at that time I was encouraged by my family and friends to fundraise to assist with out-of-pocket medical expanses. Over time, the funds raised have depleted and the organization I originally fundraised with has now closed.

My first kidney failed due to multiple reasons and after nearly 3 years on dialysis I was blessed to receive a 2nd kidney transplant that has kept me strong and healthy for the past 7 years. This kidney has also given me the ability to raise my son, Zach who was only 2 years old when my first kidney failed.

Due to the rising cost in medical expenses I have started to begin a new fundraising campaign. I am excited to begin my fundraising campaign with the non-profit organization, Help Hope Live. Any donation made on my behalf through Help Hope Live goes directly to my campaign and for my medical expanses. Donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.

I am blessed and grateful for all the love and support I continue to receive throughout my transplant journey. Thank you!
