Help Kathleen Towards Transplant!

My name is Kathleen Shores and I need a kidney transplant. In November of 2013 I received a heart transplant, and as a result of illness and the abundance of medication that I had to take after the transplant, I lost the function of both of my kidneys. I endure dialysis every night and would very much like to receive a kidney transplant and move on with my new life with my children.

Even with insurance, a transplant is life-saving, but very expensive. Funds are needed to cover the costs of the donor’s travel, hardship expenses due to time off from work, and other miscellaneous out-of –pocket medical expenses incurred as part of donating a kidney. I can also utilize this fund for out-of-pocket expenses including medications, deductibles, co-pays and caregiver expenses.

To help with the financial burden of my uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in my honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the North-Central Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only.
