I Need your Help!

Greetings my name is Kathrina Garcia . I am a 54 year-old Wife ,Mother and Grandmother who has Stage 4 Endometriosis and Adiposis Dolorosa/Dercums Disease [ A Rare Disease]. Both of these diseases are considered hidden illnesses which means it’s a disease that takes years to get a diagnosis most often you are misdiagnosed.

What is Endometriosis, the inner lining of the uterus is called the Endometrium; it is shed through the vagina during menstruation in Endometriosis ,fragments of the lining develop in places other than the uterus including the Ovaries , Fallopian tubes, Vagina , Stomach Wall , on the outside of the Womb or Ligaments ( which hold the womb in place ) or between Bladder , Rectum and Vagina , your Intestines and sometimes in Organs . Endometriosis can grow in existing scars from previous operations. In rare cases, it has been found in other parts of the body such as the skin, the eyes, the spine, the lungs and the Brain. The only site that Endometriosis has not been found is in the spleen.

What is Adiposis Dolorosa/Dercum’s disease? Is a rare condition characterized by growth of multiple, painful, Lipomas( benign, fatty tumors) . The Lipomas may occur anywhere on the body and can cause Severe Pain. Other symptoms may include weakness fatigue and memory disturbances. It also usually occurs in adults, and in women are more commonly affected than men.

Between these two diseases, I have had many treatments over the years, from surgery, to injections to pills and more. I have insurance but it doesn’t cover everything. I am fundraising to help pay for co-pays, test, travel and lodging to access treatment, alternative treatments, medial equipment and more. My body is fighting against me and I am losing. Your donation will help me continue to seek the treatment that will finally allow me to live a some what pain free existence.

I am asking that you consider a donation to help me as I am trying to live as normal a life as possible and get the correct treatment. I’d like to have more pain free days and spend time with my family and my community. Every donation is appreciated and needed.
