Dear Family and Friends,

Some of you know that I suffer from Pulmonary Fibrosis. My doctors at the University of Virginia have told me that my only option is a life-saving double lung transplant. Three weeks prior to receiving my diagnosis, I lost my loving husband John. He was my best friend and strongest support system and I miss him very much. I am now on oxygen 24/7, I am no longer able to work and do many of the everyday things we all take for granted.

Not only is a transplant major surgery, it is also very expensive. Many of my expenses are not covered by insurance and must be paid out of pocket. My insurance will only cover 80% of the surgery. In addition I will have additional expenses such as other co-pays, deductibles and I will be on a lifetime of anti-rejection medications. This is where your help is desperately needed.

A fundraising campaign in my honor has been established with HelpHopeLive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Atlantic Lung Transplant Fund, and are administered for transplant-related expenses only.
