Kaye needs your help.

My name is Kaye McDowell. I worked for over 20 years as a first responder or in an essential profession, as a Respiratory Therapist. My job included a lot of physical labor such as lifting patients into a seated position, performing CPR, and generally on my feet for the entire shift. My back took the brunt of my years of work resulting in having to use a wheelchair for mobility usually. For short walks in the house, I can sometimes get away with only a walker.

In the past, I have also had the opportunity to use a service dog, my dogs have helped me with mobility, picking things up from the floor, helping with the laundry, pulling things such as schoolbooks or groceries in a wagon, and generally making things easier. My present dog is 12 years old and ready to retire. He has gotten very anxious while riding in the car, panting the entire time. I am reaching out to you today to ask for a donation to Help Hope Live for a new service dog.

I have signed a contract with Amazing Tails LLC to train a new dog for me. However, there is no organization that will directly pay for individuals like me to purchase a dog. For my previous dogs, I was able to fundraise to obtain the needed funds to pay for my dog. At this point, I am no longer able to put on a dinner or do some of the other things that I did in the past. This new dog would help me in many of the same ways my previous dogs have but will also be trained to do things that will help me be more independent in my wheelchair.

Therefore, I need to rely on a different way to pay the fee for the dog and other expenses such as transportation to Pennsylvania, this would add up to at least $12,000. I pray that you would consider a tax-deductible donation to Help Hope Live in my honor.
