HELP KEDDY RECOVER!!!!

On May 10, 2019, our son Keddy was cycling when he was hit by a truck. He was taken to the University of Michigan Medicine where he was diasgnosed with a traumatic brain injury (TBI), broken pelvis, left subdural hematoma, cerebral edema, fracture of the L3-L5 vertebra, and additional injuries.

He was on life support and in a coma for two months. Upon coming out of his coma he was transferred to an LTACH; Select Specialties in Durham, NC for one month. He was then transferred to Atrium Carolina Rehab in Charlotte, NC to begin his physical rehab. After nearly an additional month in Charlotte he began his Neuro – rehabilitation at Learning Services. Keddy has always been an active and adventurous person. He loves cycling, the outdoors and expressing himself through his art. Despite the mental and physical challenges he now faces, Keddy is determined to have a full and productive life. He looks forward to revisiting his passions.

As you can imagine, the cost of Keddy’s care and recovery are extreme. Even with insurance we are facing many out of pocket expenses such as a handicapped accessible vehicle to fit Keddy’s specialized wheelchair, home modifications, and ongoing rehabilitation therapeutic needs. As we prepare to bring Keddy home, we need your support more than ever.
