So many of you know that I have dealt with autoimmune issues for the past 15+ years. I have been diagnosed with a form of vasculitis that affects my lungs and my kidneys. On October 2, 2019, I experienced kidney failure and have been on dialysis and oxygen ever since. My lung capacity has been determined at 25%. Due to this progression, we are working with Houston Methodist J C Walter Jr Transplant Center. They have determined that I am a double lung/kidney transplant candidate.

Mike was laid off in March of this year (2023), but we have been keeping the COBRA insurance going so that I can cover the many specialist doctors appointments, travel to Houston, and prescriptions needed. We will be relocating to Houston while on the wait list, surgery, and recovery. We are blessed that we have dear friends in Houston who have offered for us to stay with them during this time.

It is so hard to ask for this but, if you are able to donate towards our cause, it would mean the world to us. This website has been set up by the transplant fundraising professionals at the nonprofit Help Hope Live. All funds raised through this campaign will be used expressly for the purpose of keeping my medical insurance current, and ensuring that my doctor appointments and regular prescriptions keep me moving toward the goal of organ transplant and an improved quality of life.
