Hello,

My name is Kelly, and I’m currently facing a dire medical situation. I was diagnosed with PVOD in November of 2024. The life expectancy for my condition is 2 years after diagnosis, with no treatment, and the only cure being a lung/heart transplant. Receiving this news was devastating to me and my family, and it will incur a substantial financial burden that, unfortunately, will not all be covered by my insurance. I am trying to raise money for the procedure itself, medications, care, and, as I am required to live only a short distance from the transplant facility in Southern California, housing expenses post-transplant. Any contribution, big or small, will have a profound impact on my life and that of my family.

I am a mother of four sons, Gramma K to five grandkids, a sister, and a daughter of two amazing parents. My condition and dependence on oxygen have severely limited my ability to interact with my grandkids, whom I wish desperately to see grow up. I’m not ashamed to say I battle daily with fear and depression, knowing that the next Christmas or birthday with my family could be my last.

I have chosen to raise money with the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Transplant. I chose to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax-deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses. Any funds donated to them will be disbursed as needed for any medical/living expenses.
