Kenneth “Kenny” Harrison

Family and friends of Kenneth “Kenny” Harrison are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Transplant. It will also cover expenses for a relocation to Nashville Tennessee for a period of three months as he recovers. Kenneth “Kenny” has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.Kenny is 56 years old and the son of Kenneth and Patricia Harrison. He is the father of 2 boys, Justin and Jay and grandpa to Eden. His life has been full with working a full time job, spending time with family and friends and hunting. He had his first heart attack in his early 40’s with seven more to follow. This of course forced him into early retirement and changed his lifestyle drastically. Little did he know the challenges he would face over the next several years. In November of 2019 his heart had become so diseased that he was put on an LVAD heart pump in order to live. The past five years did improve his quality of life however, this last year has been quite challenging. He has had multiple infections within the pump device itself that has been resistant to most all antibiotics and most days are a struggle just to do normal activities. After several hospital stays this past year, his heart failure team has recommended that he have a heart transplant. Unfortunately the chronic heart disease has severely damaged his kidneys and he is right at stage five kidney failure, which will result in a kidney transplant also. The realization of both a heart and kidney transplant has become quite unimaginable. The financial burden that this has put on Kenny and his family is overwhelming. Kenny’s first response to this option was no we cannot do this but, we believe that God is not finished with Kenny and that He will make a way when there seems to be no way. Kenny has been approved and is now on the heart and kidney transplant list with Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
