Kenneth Maher

Kenneth Maher, known by his friends and family as “Kenn”, desperately needs your help. Eight years ago, Kenn contracted a rare virus that attacked his liver. As a result of the virus, Kenn’s liver developed end-stage-liver disease, or liver failure. As if this wasn’t enough, Kenn then developed a blood clot near his liver which then started to interfere with his small intestine and pancreas function. Ken’s health is now critical and his doctors have told him that without a lifesaving multi-organ or multi-visceral transplant, Kenn’s time will quickly run out. He is fighting for his life, and Kenn desperately needs your help!

Kenn is expected to have his multi-visceraI organ transplant at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He is undergoing extensive medical testing at Yale New Haven hospital but must travel back to Georgetown when a donor is found. He is now listed on the active national transplant list. As a result of his poor health, Kenn can no longer work, and caring for him is a full time job. While Kenn waits for his transplant surgery, his out-of-pocket medical expenses are mounting. He and Jane will also need to live closer to Georgetown once he has his surgery, and temporary relocate for approximately four months so that Kenn can be monitored for anti-rejection regularly. Kenn is also required to take costly post-transplant, anti-rejection medications that he will need for the rest of his life. These costs are adding up, and Kenn is asking for your help.
