Family and friends of Keri Powers are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with Heart transplantation.

A little about Keri… she is 36 years old and an amazing sister, daughter and friend. In May 2022, she had a widow maker heart attack with no prior health problems. She is very lucky to be alive as most people don’t survive this kind of heart attack. She was airlifted to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta and stayed there for about a month in critical care. After being released she wore a life vest for a few months before getting a defibrillator. It was at this time she discovered her heart was too damaged and she would need a heart transplant. This was scary and overwhelming at the same time. She is now under the care of Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville as she awaits her transplant.

Prior to this life changing event, Keri was the most outgoing, funny, and caring person you could meet. Now she is all of those things just elevated. She has an enthusiasm for life and has kept such a positive outlook on everything. She has put her situation in Gods hands and the care of her doctors and she is such an inspiration to everyone.

Keri has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors.
