Family and friends of Kim lemons are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Transplant. Kim has chosen to fundraiser with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.

A Journey of Faith, Fear, and Hope

My name is Kim Lemons—54, married to my wonderful husband for 27 years, mom of three, and proud grandmother of two.

On Christmas Day 2023, I became suddenly ill and was rushed to the ER. I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure, and soon after, a rare kidney disease called Fibrillary Glomerulonephritis. By early 2025, my kidneys had progressed to Stage 5 failure.

I was approved for the transplant list, and my amazing sister-in-law stepped up to be my living donor—until her final tests revealed breast cancer. We were heartbroken, but grateful it was found.

On July 1, 2025, I was officially placed on the kidney donor list. And on September 2, 2025, I began hemodialysis and started training for in-home dialysis to keep me going while I wait and pray for a donor.
