Kristy Lee Stahl

Kristy was diagnosed in 2008 with PBC , an Autoimmune Liver Disease and Stage 3 kidney failure.

Doctors told her that medications could delay liver damage but she would have to have a transplant at some point. Thirteen years later, on her 39th birthday, the doctor told her that her liver enzymes levels were rising and it was time to look for a transplant team .

She was referred to Porter Transplant Center in Denver Colorado to be placed on the donor registry.
During evaluations, doctors determined that she was a candidate for a partial ,live donor, liver transplant and referred her to the University Of Colorado for more tests.

Kristy also reached out to Texas. Liver Transplant Institute to determine the best transplant team for her.
She went through 3 days of intense testing at UT Health , and as a results, has chosen UT Health in
San Antonio, Texas to begin her transplant journey.
Her journey is a lifetime journey!

Kristy is widowed and raising two children.

Her insurance covers very little on medication, Dr. appointments and testing before and post transplant.
