Dear friends, family, and compassionate hearts,

I come to you today with a plea for support, a plea for my dear friend Kyle—a man whose life has taken an unexpected and harrowing turn.

My name is Rachael, and for the past 7 years, Kyle was not only my partner but also my unwavering friend. Though we’re no longer a couple, our friendship has endured, and I am doing all of this to make sure he doesn’t go through this ordeal with no one in his corner to fight for him, while he cannot fight for himself.

In mid-November, tragedy struck while Kyle was on the road in Montana for work. A Severe Traumatic Brain Injury [s-TBI] left him with no brain activity upon arrival at the hospital, leading to an emergency brain surgery. For two agonizing weeks, he battled in a coma, further complicated by the onset of pneumonia. The journey has been long and arduous, marked by the silent struggle of a man fighting to come back to his friends & family.

Through the uncertainty and fear, one thing remains steadfast—Kyle’s love for life & family. Unfortunately, new medical complications have delayed his journey home to California, where he can receive the specialized care crucial for his recovery. As we anticipated his arrival, the holiday season now casts a shadow over his hospital room in Montana, where he faces confusion, uncertainty & Christmas alone, far from the warmth of his loved ones.

**The Heart of the Matter:**
Amidst the uncertainty of Kyle’s recovery, we are faced with the daunting financial burden that accompanies such a profound medical journey, the costs associated with the recovery ranging anywhere from $400,000 to $3,000,000 for a Severe TBI. My hope is that Kyle, with time and care, will regain most, if not all, of his faculties. In the meantime, we’re looking to alleviate the weight of this financial strain, allowing him to focus on healing rather than the looming bills.
