Help Larissa Take Her Next Breath—for Her Sons, for Her Future

Family and friends of Larissa Woolard are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Transplant. Larissa has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.

Hi, Larissa Woolard was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis in November 2010 at the age of 17. CF is a progressive genetic condition that primarily affects her lungs and other organs, and it has changed nearly every part of her life. Over the years, she has to learned to adapt, but now she in need of a life-saving transplant and support to keep going—for herself and for her two young boys.

Larissa is far more than a diagnosis. she is a proud mom of two beautiful, energetic boys, Carsen and Blake. They are the sunshine of my life, and she loves exploring the world with them—whether we’re traveling, building LEGO sets, or just soaking up the sun. She loves painting, learning new things in little bursts (micro-learning!), and sipping a good matcha latte. She is passionate about kindness, giving back, and creating joy every day. She is also someone who needs more naps than most—something she has learned to embrace!

Living with CF means Larissa has had to give up a lot of the physical activities she loves. Skating, long walks, even just breathing easily while wearing a mask can be exhausting and limiting. She has spent more time in hospitals than she ever wanted, missing out on everyday joys with her family. The condition affects more than just her lungs—it’s impacted her digestive system, energy levels, and quality of life in ways that are hard to describe.

Right now, Larissa is fundraising to cover the significant costs related to her transplant procedure, including living and caretaking expenses during recovery. A transplant could give her better lung capacity, reduce the time she has to spend in the hospital, and give her back more moments with her kids. The financial strain is real—medical expenses, travel to specialists, time off work, and the cost of post-transplant care all add up quickly.

With your help, Larissa can regain the energy and strength to do more with Carsen and Blake—go swimming, play sports, take bike rides, even run a marathon one day (dream big, right?). She also want to continue her education, either complete her medical billing courses or pursue a master’s degree in education so she can start a new chapter in a career she is passionate about.

This transplant won’t cure CF, but it will give Larissa a much better chance at a fuller, freer life. It means fewer hospital stays, more time with loved ones, and even the possibility to visit her brother in the military or reconnect with the out-of-state family.
