Larry Wall

Dear Family and Friends,

I am writing to ask for your prayers and support for my husband, Larry Wall. In 1999, he had a severe heart attack and needed immediate emergency heart surgery. Despite chronic fatigue over the years, he has devoted his time raising two children, being the best husband, and also serving the community as a laboratory science instructor and licensed professional counselor. The physicians have determined that Larry is at end stage heart disease, and will require a heart transplant to survive. He is currently on the heart transplant list at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston, Texas.

Unfortunately, his health has significantly deteriorated. Early in 2013, my husband was no longer able to work due to excessive fatigue, weakness, and shortness of breath. In August, 2013, he was moved-up higher on the transplant list. We are now living on reduced income facing many uninsured transplant-related expenses in the future. The surgery is very expensive. We have been told that his recovery time may be lengthy. Thereafter, life-long post-transplant expenses will include ongoing insurance co-pays for physician fees, medical follow-up procedures, and very expensive anti-rejection medications.

To assist with this ongoing financial burden of heart transplantation, a fundraising campaign in Larry’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive (formerly NTAF), a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for nearly 30 years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Central Heart Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only.
