Laura Craddock
Austin, TX
Our dear friend Laura has been experiencing severe issues for over a year and had brain surgery in June of this year to remove a cyst/tumor because it was posing a risk to her vision. A month later, her body went into adrenal crisis and started to shut down.
The flare-ups have been on-going, and there is another mass around her pituitary gland. Unfortunately, the only remedy is high doses of steroids, unless she experiences significant vision issues, in which they would potentially have to do surgery again.
After further testing, Laura has been given a rare health diagnosis called lymphocytic hypophysitis, which is an autoimmune disorder that affects the pituitary gland. It affects approximately 1 in 9 million people (about 900 people in the world), which makes receiving medical care very difficult as most providers have never encountered this disorder.
It essentially acts like a pituitary adenoma (tumor) that causes inflammation around the pituitary gland and affects a lot of important functions in the body and causes many different symptoms. The most intrusive symptoms are severe headaches, blurred vision, dizziness, and vertigo.
Laura can no longer continue her corporate career in sales. Her daily living expenses in addition to medical costs are beyond her financial capacity, and she is in need of additional financial support from her community.
Her insurance premiums and provider fees alone are $1300 a month, along with out-of-pocket medical expenses, caregiver costs, and ancillary expenses that are over $30,000. She has accumulated medical debt with brain surgery and medical needs over the past 12 months.
Health Hope Live is supporting Laura in raising funds to reach her financial goal of $100,000 and is a 501(c)(3), so your contributions to her cause are tax deductible.
If you’d like to support Laura and feel called to give, it would be so helpful. And if you’d like to help her in broadening her reach, please feel free to share this with your communities or any local organization that might be willing to help support her cause.
Many organizations and employer groups provide donation matching programs or are willing to donate to local non-profits of your choice.
Your continued prayers, love, and support are deeply appreciated.
