About Me

My name is Buddy, and I am a loving father to six children and a proud grandfather to thirteen grandchildren. Family is the center of my life, and nothing brings me more joy than seeing them happy and thriving. I’m known for having a big heart, a good sense of humor, and for always being there for anyone in need. Many people have looked at me as a source of strength—someone dependable, steady, and unbreakable—but this disease has taken that from me and my family.

I enjoy simple pleasures like fishing, going to yard sales, working on cars, and spending time at the beach with my loved ones. I once lived a very active life, but end-stage liver disease and cirrhosis have slowly stolen my energy, strength, and overall health. I have fought hard to manage my condition with medications and a strict diet, but I’ve now reached the point where the only true solution is a healthy liver transplant. This journey has been incredibly challenging, but I remain hopeful. With support, I am fighting for the chance to reclaim my health and continue making memories with the family I love so deeply.

What I Struggle With Because of End-Stage Liver Disease Because of this disease, I live with constant fatigue and loss of strength, making even simple tasks difficult. Brain fog affects my focus and memory, and I’ve lost much of the independence I once took for granted. I often miss out on family moments and the activities I love, simply because my body can’t keep up. Beyond the physical challenges, there’s a heavy emotional toll—watching the disease slowly take away my health and the role I once played for my family.

How I Hope My Life Will Change With Your Support This fundraising campaign will help cover the significant medical expenses associated with a liver transplant, including pre-transplant testing and evaluations, the transplant surgery itself, and the ongoing post-transplant care and medications needed for recovery.

With improved health, I hope to regain my energy and strength so I can enjoy the simple joys I miss most—fishing, going to yard sales, working on cars, and spending quality time at the beach with my family. I want to actively participate in family gatherings, making memories instead of watching from the sidelines.

As my health improves, I also hope to return to work or meaningful activity, regain independence, and give back to my community by supporting others facing serious illness. Most importantly, this support would allow me to spend more time with my loved ones—laughing, helping others, and showing up for my family the way I always have.
