Len Needs Lungs and Needs Your Help

This year Len was looking forward to celebrating his five year post Bone Marrow Transplant birthday on March 11th, 2015. But his celebration plans are taking a temporary pause as it has become evident that Len is in need of new lungs ASAP. Len has been diagnosed with advanced stage Pulmonary Fibrosis and he is currently at Duke University Hospital ICU waiting for new lungs. We are asking for your help to assist with Len’s out-of-pocket medical and relocation expenses.

You may know Len from his adolescent days growing up in Bridgeport, CT. Or you may know him from his computer science days at Harvard University or Dana Farber. Or perhaps you know Len through one of his bazillion cousins or siblings Christy, Scott, Nar, or Jill. In the many different ways you have come to know Len, you must know what a fighter he is and how much he loves to live life to the fullest!

Post-college, life has thrown Len many unexpected curve balls but it has also given him the huge blessing of a loving community of family and friends like you. Through battling leukemia, a bone marrow transplant, a “stroke”, brain surgery, and now facing a lung transplant; Len is not deterred! He is looking forward to having more years to celebrate with you but he can’t do it without your help!

Unfortunately, funding this urgent lifesaving procedure is a monumental task in itself. Even with insurance, Len is facing very high expenses. He was required to relocate to Durham, NC to be closer to Duke University Hospital for a minimum of a year and his current monthly expenses including insurance costs, medications, rent, and basic living expenses amount to $3000 a month.
