Leonard Needs A Life-Saving Kidney Transplant

Many of you are aware that Leonard “Leo” Seckman, longtime resident of Norfolk, maintenance worker, husband and father is battling end stage renal disease, aka kidney failure. Leonard has been receiving dialysis treatments 3 times a week since April 2013. Dialysis is keeping him alive, but a kidney transplant is his best hope for a return to good health.

You may know Leonard from his 25 years working at Tyson Fresh Foods in Madison, or from Walmart where he assembles BBQ grills, lawn furniture and bicycles. Leonard is also a veteran having served in the United States Maine Core from 1976 to 1980 including an overseas tour.

Leonard is a great guy and he’d give anyone the shirt off his back. Now, we need to help him. This last year has been incredibly challenging for the Seckman family emotionally, physically and financially. With the support of his family and the strength of his faith, Leonard remains steadfast in his hope for a complete recovery after a successful transplant. While lifesaving, transplant are very expensive. The transplant center estimates that Leonard’s out-of-pocket medical expenses will be more than $15,000 including travel and relocation to be closely monitored at the time of transplant, living expenses during recovery, and life-long medications.
