Hello I Have Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and I need your help!

In October 2017 my pulmonologist told me I had Interstitial Lung Disease. In January 2018 my case was discussed at a University of Cincinnati Interstitial Lung Disease Conference and it was concluded by the Physicians in attendance that I have Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.
My pulmonologist said life expectancy was 3 to 5 years and lung transplant was a discussion. I shared this with my best friend of 33 plus years and she was appalled. To me a lung transplant was out of the question but my grandson-in-law unknowingly gave me a change of heart. Albeit there is no cure a lung transplant improves quality of life.
I was prescribed Esbriet which is not a cure but slows IPF progression. After a web-ex meeting with Madison VA Pulmonary Clinic early this year I was approved for further transplant consideration. Recognizing hardships it would impose on us to come to Madison Wisconsin for an extended stay I have since been approved through VA Community Care and I am nearing the end of the evaluation phase for transplant at OSU Wexner Medical Center.
If all goes as we pray for I should be listed for transplant by year end or early 2021. Most of my expenses will be covered by VA / Medicare but not all. It is expected we will have to be in the Columbus Ohio area 2 to 3 months. This expense is something unexpected and with Covid any chances for available no cost housing is next to zero. It’s been a long journey thus far but soon I will sport a new pair of lungs, thankful for the donor, your prayers and financial help and a new journey will begin.
