Help Liam Ride His First Bike

On September 4, 2013, at only 8 months old, our son Liam was diagnosed with an Arterial Ischemic Stoke of the left side. This news was followed by a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy, Symptomatic Localization Epilepsy and Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome. After nine years of many hospital stays, continuous physical and occupational therapy; Liam finally has the strength to ride his first bike.

Liam is a winner of hearts. Liam’s bravery and determination is unmatched. He is a friend to all. Liam likes to play basketball, video games and now has the drive to keep up with his two little brothers as they ride bikes together. Liam struggles with balance and mobility challenges due to weakness on the right side of his body. Because of these challenges an adaptive bike is necessary.

Unfortunately insurance does not apply to an adaptive bike. We are a family of 5 in Union Township with only one parent being able to work. As you can imagine the medical costs of Liam’s therapies, specialists, medical devices and medications can become overwhelming.

On August 9, 2022, Liam finally had the opportunity to ride his first bike! An adaptive bike made by Freedom Concepts has made his life long dream of riding a bike come true. We would be beyond blessed and appreciative to have our communities support in raising funds to purchase Liam his own adaptive bike for Christmas.
