Help Lily Regain Her Independence

On November 17, 2014 my daughter Lily suffered a severe asthma attack which led to a cardiac arrest. She was without oxygen long enough to sustain an anoxic brain injury and spent the next 3 weeks in a coma. Early on we were told that the damage to her brain was vast and global, and that most likely she might never return from a vegetative state.

But we all refused to believe it, and day after day we held on to the hope that she was in there, because Lily is a fighter. She’s always been a fighter. And she proved them all wrong.

Lily spent the next 4 months in the hospital and during that time, and to this day, she has been dedicated to working on her recovery. Every doctor and every therapist who has met Lily, or has worked with Lily, all say the same thing… Lily is a miracle.

Lily is determined to have a full and productive life and looks forward to returning to college one day to continue to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher.

As you can imagine, the cost of Lily’s care and recovery is considerable. Even with insurance, we face many out-of-pocket expenses including ongoing therapy and in home care.
