Linda Dubois

Many of you know Linda Dubois. She is a loving Wife to Paul, a Mother to Tracy & Ryan, a Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt and good friend to many. Our Mom Linda loves life and celebrates hers with an inimitable passion for its simplest pleasures.

What you may not know is that she suffers from hepatitis C, which was contracted through a contaminated blood transfusion. Despite her commitment to following every available medical regime, and enduring numerous painful and costly procedures, Mom has been diagnosed with End Stage Liver Disease. Her doctors at Mount Sinai Hospital have told us that her only option now is a life-saving liver transplant.

After extensive testing, my brave and loving brother Ryan proved to be a match. As you may already know, Ryan has always been courageous and strong, with a heart that overflows with love and compassion. The approved transplant is scheduled for March 6th, 2012.

Even with insurance there are many expenses that are not covered and must be paid for out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, multiple trips to the transplant center, and our Mother Linda will be on a lifetime of costly anti-rejection medications that are not fully covered by insurance. This puts us up against a challenge that we cannot meet alone and need your help.

A fundraising campaign in Linda’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive (formerly NTAF), a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for nearly 30 years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the New York Liver Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only.
