Linda Needs Your Help

Nearly three years ago Linda was diagnosed with Stage IV renal failure. Her condition rapidly declined and within months Linda began hemodialysis initially for three days each week. Linda’s kidneys are no longer functioning with any success and she is now engaged in home dialysis five times weekly. Although the hemodialysis has provided some balance to her life, Linda is best served through a kidney transplant.

She has been accepted into the kidney transplant program through Providence/Sacred Heart. This is a wonderful program with a tremendous success rate. However, even though Linda has insurance, there are costs associated with the transplant that are not covered by insurance. Before Linda is able to proceed with the transplant process she needs to raise funds to cover the expenses not paid for by insurance. The funds necessary for the first year are likely to range from $6,000 to $10,000. She will need these funds available before the transplant center will proceed with the testing and procedure.

Fortunately Linda’s two sons, Dave and Dirk Darrow, are hopeful kidney donors. However, neither can be tested until the necessary funds are raised. Therefore we are asking you to help meet this financial need by partnering with us.

A fundraising campaign in Linda’s honor has been established through HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for over 30 years. All contributions are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Northwest Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only.
