Help Lori Get Some Rest!

Lori is asking for your help again!

Most of us don’t realize how amazing our bodies are. They move and adjust even while we sleep on their own, keeping us comfortable and providing us with rest we need.

Now, imagine your laying in your bed, none of your muscles able to adjust on their own. You can’t move for hours at a time. The pressure points become sore and enflamed. The pain is unbelievable. It causes bed sores and now your sleep isn’t restful and your days can feel endless.

This is the reality that Lori lives with. Since she is paralyzed, her challenges are real and daily. Getting her a specialized mattress, (Pictures in the Bed Album), will keep her pressure points from being affected. It will permit air flow and allow for the rest we take for granted daily.

On April 20, 2012, Lori Ann Vehmeier was injured in a car accident in which she was a passenger. The car accident (and surgery to follow) left Lori paralyzed with no use of her legs and partial use of her arms and hands. Since the injury, Lori has been in and out of hospitals and rehabilitation centers in an effort to regain mobility and independence.

On April 20, 2015, Lori had the metal rod removed from her back, resulting in increased motion (spasms and “response” in both her legs). She is making good progress, but still has a long road ahead of her.
